 Over heard at my house.

Sprinklekit and Breezy were watching 10 Things I Hate About You .   During a scene where the two sisters are insulting each other and calling names, Breezy turns to Sprinklekit and says:

Breezy: Will we ever be like that?

Sprinklekit:  Like what?

Breezy: Like the girls in the movie.

Sprinklekit:  (smiling) I hope not.

Breezy: Can I wait to get off the computer until "Whose-a-mah-call-it" gets home?
Me: You mean your father?
Breezy: Yeah, HIM!

Sprinklekit: I don't understand why my friends think that it's gross when their parents kiss or hug. I think it's really cute.

 Sprinklekit brought an old rocking horse base outside (horse head missing.) and passed on my instructions to "let the kids play it to death".  The first thing I hear the from outside is, "OOOOooo... Put it in the WATER!!!!"

Well, that will kill it quickly enough.

Squishy came into my house acting like a cat two mornings this week.

This morning Squishy was doing a very fine impression of velcro to his father.

So, I decided that I would distract him by getting him to play "cat" with me.  I started meowing.

He gave me a confused smile, looked at his father and said "Anzzie's bein' weird."

Sigh.

Today at lunch, I was regaled with a story of an epic battle. A violent and bloody and sad story with both the Protagonist and Antagonist dying and rising several times each. It was a story full of guns and swords and brutal savagery.

It is the story of a young knave who feels wronged by his adjunct overlord and seeks to confront him.

So, Karl and I were just watching STNG- Encounter at Farpoint.    sprinklekit wandered in and watched the last few minutes with us.

When "Q" showed up at the end in traditional "Q" regalia, Sprinklekit shouted out "Yo! That's the dude on our [Christmas] Ornament!!!"

Karl continued on with a decent Sprinklekit imitation, "Oh my God!!  It all makes sense now ( Read more... )

During one of his temper tantrums today, we had the privilege of watching Squishy stomp while crawling away from us. I had never really considered the possibility of crawling and stomping at the same time. The sound made our knees ache in sympathy.

Squishy put me in a time out yesterday.

He kept finding and playing with the band-aids.

I grabbed the box (for what seemed like the 10th time ) from him.  With an exasperated "Will you please Just leave them alone!!!", I tossed them up even out of my reach.

Then I shook my head and muttered, "Man, I need to calm down.  I need a time out"
